I thought a map illustrating where I’ve been to on my trip to the Philippines would be a nice way to start off this blog, so behold! A rather stunning piece* I made with MS Paint:
The Philippines is an archipelago consisting of over 7000 islands and is broken up into three main regions: Luzon in the north, the Visayas in the middle, and Mindanao in the south. The majority of my vacation was spent in Cebu (part of the Visayan Islands), where my cousin’s wedding, which was the main reason for this trip, was held. I spent about an hour in Manila for a connecting flight, three days in Palawan for some crazy nonstop activities, and 4 days in Cagayan de Oro visiting some more family, all of which will be covered in the next few (or more) posts.
For more detailed information on the country itself, there’s good ole Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippines
